Engine 304 |
Description: |
This engine worked in Wichita Falls for many years. It's hard to photograph the way it's situated-I had my back against the fence for this and the next shot. |

Engine 304 |
Description: |
Built in 1906 for the Fort Worth and Denver Railroad, which became a subsidiary of the Burlington Route 2 years later-hence the F.W.D. lettering under the cab but the Burlington Route logo on the tender. It was so good at switching, it was still in service in 1951, even though diesels were starting to take over. |

Got this length-wise shot by holding the camera as high as I could (to avoid the fence) and snapping a blind shot. It took 4 attempts! |
